And towards "art-rich" new year 2016.

I'm currently illustrating a small scale rpg book project, and that'll take a month at least. Then, hopefully, time to draw Middle-Earth stuff again

Firstly the not-so-happy part. Honestly speaking, I haven't been that active in DA for couple of years. It would be fair to say that finishing my studies at the university and difficulties in the job market have been stressful (says captain Obvious) but now I'm finally finishing my master's thesis and graduating soon as MSc, majoring in Innovation management. Fairly cool and such. However the main reason for taking some distance to DA is a personal issue, that has caused some "grief work" for these years. And the simpleton's way is to avoid things that reminds of such issues ("aus den Augen, aus dem Sinn" like the German saying goes). But when these issues seriously start to affect my hobbies as well it's a no-go situation. Things need to change, and there are plenty of things changing anyways in near future.

Enough about that matter. Lately I have been sketching about Battle of Five Armies, mostly about Dáin's folk. I think this small serie will look something like this:

- Battle of Five Armies: Men of Esgaroth (done)
- Battle of Five Armies: Elves of Mirkwood (done)
- Battle of Five Armies: Warriors of Dáin
- Battle of Five Armies: Bolg
- Battle of Five Armies: Charge of Thorin
- Battle of Five Armies: Surrounded
- Beorn Finds Thorin (done)
- Thorin's Farewell (reaaally old sketches about this one, recently I saw a really nice fan-made song about Lament for Thorin and it inspired me to do some more)

Dáin (Badass) Ironfoot, dwarven shieldwalls and pikes <3 that was The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies to me. No use to wail over Jackson's decisions now, and for some reason I have a terrible urge to read the book again...

I guess it's reasonable to update journal at least once a year, and I have been quite unactive lately (studies, small illustration project, digital sketches and pure lazyness) I decided to show some really old and just plain old drawings I found from my cabinet. Horrifying stuff and some which I don't remember at all. Especially my brother's caricatures about my drawings were surprising findings (when did he manage to draw those I wonder).

First drawing with drawing ink that I really liked, and this was followed by huge amount of fantasy/rpg drawings. Focus on anatomy, lights + shadows, detailing gear & armour.

First of all, I thank you all for your art, comments, good suggestions and support. Have a nice Christmas and New Year 2012!

Year 2011 was a horrible blow to my freetime activity of drawing - I'm in the last step in my studies, year and a half left if all go according to plans. Next year will be better for my hobby, and I plan to draw a lot. Most important one to me is "finish" my version of the Hobbit (before the movie). It will be a interesting mission,  I hope that I learn some new tricks.

I'll continue drawing digitally with tablet, as I bought myself a new one (cheap Wacom, lets see how this will end) for Christmas to replace the previous one ("Trust", hah) that broke right after quarantee time was over. Themes are related to post-apocalyptic scenarios, like usual. Inspired by Metro 2033, Fallout serie, The Road, S.T.A.L.K.E.R serie.
